Our topic this half term is Vincent Van Gogh and we will be channeling our inner artists each
week by taking inspiration from his famous work to create our own masterpieces.
We will be focusing on writing information texts and looking at skills such as different sentence
types, conjunctions and spelling.
We will be consolidating division and moving on to look at measuring. Please continue to practice
2, 5 and 10 times tables.

In the run up to SATs, your child may be given work to practice at home.
Homework needs to be returned by Wednesday and new homework will be given out on a
Reading at home and homework is vital to the progression of your child. If they have
any chance of passing the expected standard in their SATs then they must be reading
daily at home.

Yr2 trip to York.
As part of their Topic Year 2 have been learning all about the Great Fire of London.
A themed day was held, where the children got to dress-up, bake bread and rebuild London from recycled material.
Class of 2016/17
Year 2 had a fantastic end of year trip to Sundown. The sun shone and the children had a brilliant time and were a credit to the school.
Year 2 visited Yorkshire Air museum as part of their Topic.

The children in year 2 took a trip to the Yorkshire Air Museum and saw the plane the Wright Brothers used for their first flight.
