Our main topic until Easter will look at the work of Barbara Hepworth. This renowned artist
from Wakefield is well known for both here drawings and paintings, but is most famour for her
sculpture work, which can be seen across the world. Year 4 will view some of her pieces during
our visit to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. If you fancy a free day out to see some before then

Reading Books, Spellings and Homework
Your child will be given:
- a reading book
- #30things homework challenge
- Key 3 activities
We expect all children to read for 10 minutes - 3 times a week. Books will be changed,
ready to be sent out every Friday.
Each Friday, your child can choose an activity to do from the #30things grid. We look
forward to seeing the pictures of the children completing their challenges! These need
to be handed back into school the following Tuesday.
Spellings will now be taught 4 times a week in class. This means that no spelling
homework will be given out.
These activities are very important in helping your child improve at school and we hope
you will support us by helping your child at home.
