Reading Books, Spellings and Homework

Your child will be given:

  • a reading book
  • #30things homework challenge
  • Key 3 activities

We expect all children to read for 10 minutes - 3 times a week. Books will be changed,

ready to be sent out every Friday.

Each Friday, your child can choose an activity to do from the #30things grid. We look

forward to seeing the pictures of the children completing their challenges!  These need

to be handed back into school the following Tuesday.

Spellings will now be taught 4 times a week in class. This means that no spelling

homework will be given out.

These activities are very important in helping your child improve at school and we hope

you will support us by helping your child at home.

 Year 4 Residential 2019

Having only just got back from Christmas summer seems so far away but here at school we are

already starting to plan our activities. One of these activities is the annual Year 4 residential that

This year we are changing our trip to reflect the larger number of children in Yr4. We will be

going for the first time to Ravenstor Youth Hostel. Using this as our base we will explore the

countryside of the Peak District visiting:

  • the town of Buxton and learning where the spa water comes from
  • the famous Speedwell Cavern
  • Walking across one of the Three Peaks
  • Matlock Farm
