This half-term our topic is 'At The Abbey' and we will be devoting every Friday to a full day of topic
work! Last half-term, our topic days were hugely successful and the children produced some high
quality writing, so we're looking forward to more of the same.
During our topic days we will be: focusing on history and looking at the Tudor period; looking at
Abbeys and what they were used for; visiting Kirkstall Abbey to experience what being inside an
Abbey was like; describing the social, ethnic, cultural and religious diversity of this past society.
We will also be using our Abbey topic as the key driver for lots of our writing and reading work.
Just a reminder. We expect all children to read for 10 minutes - 5 times a week.
Each Friday your child will be given Homelearning to be handed back into school by Wednesday.
Spellings will be given out every Friday and the children will have to learn them ready for the
next spelling lesson in school.
