This half term, we are becoming Scientists again and investigating Plants. We will be
doing lots of experiments to explore how plants grow. Do they really need water? Do
they really need soil? We’ll soon find out! We will also be visiting the Woods to look at
the different tree types. More information on this to follow.

Reading books and homework
Your child will be given:
- a reading record
- a reading book
- a learning Journal
The reading record shows how much reading your child is doing at home.
We expect all children to read for 10 minutes - 3 times a week. You need to write the date, the name of the book and what pages they have read with a short comment on how they have done in their reading record and this needs to be handed in once a week. New reading records will be handed out next week.
Each Friday your child will be given 3 key tasks based on phonics / spelling, maths (speedy spider) and a reading book. They will also be given a choice of 16 activities from the #30 activities to do in their learning Journal. Homework needs to be handed back into school by the following Wednesday.
