This half term, we will be doing our Geography topic – Leeds and the Seaside. We will
be looking at where we live in our local area and compare it to the seaside. For this, we
will be going to explore Filey! As well as looking at Leeds and Filey, we are going to look
at our world, our continent and our country.

Reading books and homework
Your child will be given:
- a reading record
- a reading book
- a learning Journal
The reading record shows how much reading your child is doing at home.
We expect all children to read for 10 minutes - 3 times a week. You need to write the date, the name of the book and what pages they have read with a short comment on how they have done in their reading record and this needs to be handed in once a week. New reading records will be handed out next week.
Each Friday your child will be given 3 key tasks based on phonics / spelling, maths (speedy spider) and a reading book. They will also be given a choice of 16 activities from the #30 activities to do in their learning Journal. Homework needs to be handed back into school by the following Wednesday.
