This term, Year 3 are looking forward to studying the Iron Man. We will also be starting our RE topic of Judaism and are looking forward to visiting a Synagogue! We are getting ready for Christmas and are excited about going to the theatre in December.
Reading Books, Spellings and Homework
Your child will be given:
- a reading record
- a reading book
- a learning journal
The reading record shows how much reading your child is doing at home.
We expect all children to read for 10 minutes - 3 times a week. You need to write the date, the name
of the book and what pages they have read with a short comment on how they have done in their
reading record and this needs to be handed in once a week. Books will be changed, ready to be sent
out every Friday.
Each Friday your child will choose a challenge from their #30things grid and will record this in
Spellings will be given out every Friday and the children have a week to learn them before the test
the following Thursday. Additionally, your child will be given Maths homework in the form of a
‘Speedy Spider’ on a Friday.
These activities are very important in helping your child improve at school and we hope you will
support us by helping your child at home.

Class of 2016/17
Year 3 had lots of fun when they visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park for their end of year trip.
Class of 2015/16
As part of their topic on Yorkshire Tourism Hazel Class visited Mallam Cove.
As part of their topic work Yr 3 visited Sinai Synagogue and were very lucky as they got to see the Synagogues Torah Scrolls and even made their own scrolls.
Year 3 had some very special visitors in class when Jolleys Pet Shop came for the day.
