 Year 6 trips to the cinema

As part of the national into Film Festival we have been able to get free tickets for the children in Year 6

to go to the cinema. Ash Class are going to see Bumblebee on Tuesday 12th Nov and Oak Class are

going to watch The Secret Life of Pets 2 on Thursday 21st November.

 

Anti-Bullying Week 11th - 15th November

Children will be taking part in Anti-Bullying week from Monday 11th November. The children in each

Year group will be focusing on a paritcular type of bullying. We are all wearing odd socks on Tuesday

12th November as part of our Anti-Bullying Week to help raise awareness.

 

National Childhood Measurement Programme Thursday 14th November

Children in Reception and Year 6 will have their height and weight measured as part of the national

measurement scheme. Children in Reception will also have their eyes checked on the day. Look out for

a letter explaining in more detail, how and why the checks happen.

 

Children in Need - Friday 15th November

This year's campaign is based around the theme 'Get Together', to show our support, we will all be

dressing up in something yellow or spotty for this year's fundraising day. A voluntary contribution of £1

is suggested, payable on the school's online payment system.

 

Flu Immunisation Day - Wednesday 20th November

Nurses from the local NHS service will be in school on Wednesday 20th November immunising children

at risk of the flu. Look out for a letter explaining in more detail which children can have the flu

immunisation, how it will be administered and why it is a good idea.

 

Hunslet Carr Community Christmas Light Swith On - Thursday 21st November

Children from the school choir will be joinging members of the community to switch on the Christmas

Lights in the Arthington Court over the road from the Arthingto Medical Centre. Look out for a flyer

with more detail and come along and sing some Christmas songs.

 

Take Over Day - Friday 29th November

Across the country, children are taking over! In schools, museums and libraries children are

experiencing what the world of work is really like. James and Abigail, our Head Girl and Boy, will be

taking over from Mr Lumb for the day and children on the School Council and in Year 6 will be working

in different rolses across the school.

 

Parents' and Carers' Meetings

This half-term we will be running Parents' and Carers' Meetings on Tuesday 26th Novermber in the

evening between 4.00 and 7.00. We will also be offering appointments on Thursday 28th November in

the afternoon between 2.00 and 4.30. We hope that spreading the appointments over two days will

allow us to see more parents and carers at a time that is more suitable to you.

 

Christmas Plays

KS1 will be performing their Christmas play on the mornings of Tuesday 10th and Thursday 12th

December. EYFS will be performing their play on Wednesday 11th December in the afternoon.
