Key Dates for you
World Book Week
Between Monday 26th February and Friday 2nd March, children across the school will be taking part in a
series of events designed to increase their love of books and reading. All the classes will be visiting Hunslet Library and the School Library, author Miles Slater will be visiting school and On Thursday 1st
March children and staff will be coming to school in their pyjamas for a Bedtime Story.
It is that time of the year where we join in and raise money for Sports Relief. This year it is on Friday 23rd March and the children are invited to come dressed in their favourite sporting outfit to raise money
for thisworthwhile cause. We are asking for a donation of 50p per child and this can be done through our
on-line school money application.
Attendance and Punctuality Competition
From Thursday 1st Mar until Thursday 29th Mar we are running an Attendance and Punctuality
competition. All the children need to do to be in with a chance of winning Cinema, restaurant and fast
food vouchers is to be in school on time every day in March. Look out for a separate letter for more
Parents’ and Carers’ meetings
This half-term we will be running Parents’ and Carer meetings on Tuesday 27th March in the evening
between 3.30 – 6.30 and Thursday 29th March in the afternoon between 1.30 and 3.30. For the first
time, all of these meetings will take place in the school hall.
We will break up for Easter on Thursday 29th March and re-open again on Monday 16th April.
Monday 3rd April – Easter Eggstravaganza!
Easter bonnet assembly/decorated egg competition
Reception & KS1 will be taking part in our annual Easter Bonnet assembly that celebrates all things
Easter and includes the children’s bonnet parade. KS2 will be taking part in their annual Easter Egg
Decorating completion. Look out for a separate letter for more details.
We will break up for the Easter holiday on Thursday 29th March and re-open again on Monday 16th
Training days for 2017-18
